The name of the event stems from the power unit “terawatt” (TW), equivalent to 10(12) or 1 trillion watts.
What are the target areas of TERA-Award?
The six key areas targeted are renewable energy, energy storage & conversion,ccus technologies, green fuels & hydrogen energy, intelligent energy systems and green smart city. The broad scope of application encompassed by these six fields contributes towards meeting the global demand for low-carbon and renewable energy, thereby presenting significant potential.
Who are the members of the judging panel?
Considering that smart energy innovation technology is still in its early stages of development, the competition committee has established a panel of expert judges across industry, academia, and research sectors to ensure a professional, fair, and impartial evaluation process. This panel is composed of experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong, and top international R&D institutions.
What are the criteria for judging?
The award takes into account four areas: innovation, implementation and talent capability and commercialization.
How many prizes will TERA-Award present?
Three prizes are available, including TERA-Award Gold, TERA-Award Silver and TERA-Award Bronze.
TERA-Award Gold: US$1 million TERA-Award Silver: US$100,000 TERA-Award Bronze: US$50,000
“Rising Star Award” and “Pioneer Award” will be awarded to respectively top-tier projects with highest readiness of commercialization and top-tier projects which are most innovative.
Outstanding projects in the competition will have the opportunity to secure investment and conduct technology trials in application scenarios.
